OPEN BOOK

by Scott Simon

In mid-march 2020, with school moving online and the installation of a special line in Scott’s home office, we started to “shelter in place.” As we contemplated hours at home, and moments of solitude, we thought about how to put a little joy into our lives. We gratefully looked at the books around us and began a daily Videocast. Its called Open Book and we invite you to join us. Elise, our 16-year-old daughter (now 19!), is the technical crew and an increasing editorial participant. Daisy, our poodle, is a frequent guest and contributor.

They air daily, usually at 6:15 pm ET, but they are available for viewing anytime on Twitter or this website. Every guest has brought moments of levity, insight and feeling to our day. We are grateful to them, and to you for participating and/or watching.

To see these and/or participate directly please join us on Twitter.
